Garbage is operated by Smorgasbord LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company. When this policy says "we" or "us," it means Smorgasbord LLC.

What we collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the App and provide you with a working feed, profile, and social features. This includes:

• Authentication data: email address and account identifiers from Google sign-in.
• Profile data: username, display name, and avatar you choose.
• Content: photographs, captions, comments, likes, follows, and reports you submit.
• Billing data: if you subscribe to a paid plan, Stripe processes your payment information and shares subscription status with us; we do not store full payment card details.
• Technical data: basic server logs and error reports needed to keep the App running securely.

We do not currently collect analytics or advertising identifiers. We may add analytics in the future to improve the App; this policy will be updated if we do.

How we use data

We use the data above to:

• Provide your account, feed, profile, and social features;
• Display content you and others post;
• Enforce our Trust & Safety rules and respond to reports;
• Process subscriptions and manage billing for paid plans;
• Keep the App secure and fix bugs.

How we share data

Smorgasbord LLC does not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers needed to run the App, such as our backend hosting provider (Lovable Cloud) and Stripe for payment processing. These providers are contractually bound to use your data only to provide services to us.

Data retention

We keep your data until you delete your account or the relevant content. You can delete posts, comments, and your account at any time. Some residual data may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.

Your choices

You can update your profile, delete posts, and delete your account within the App or by contacting us. You may also revoke Google authentication access through your Google account settings.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves. We will revise the "last updated" date at the top of the page when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
